Bill Winston Lemmon was born August 13th, 1930. He was the eldest son of Joe Baily and Nettie Mae Lemmon. Winston grew up in the Hall community just North of Jefferson, and spent his entire life in Jefferson, Texas.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War period, and was honorably discharged for medical reasons prior to service. He worked with the Texas Forest Service, and later went into the automobile service station business. He owned and operated his own business, and later finishing his working career working in the service station business for others. He enjoyed working with animals of all types, discussing the oil and gas business, selling timber and gravel. Winston attended the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. Throughout his life Winston placed the service to others above the interest of himself.
Winston was preceded in death by his parents in 1947 and 2002, his brother Joe Baily Lemmon in 2006, and his sister Annette Lemmon Daigle in 2010.
A graveside service for Winston will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery, Jefferson, Texas, under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. He will be interred next to his parents and sister. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
