Dorothy Mae (Chambliss) Jackson

Graveside services for Mrs. Dorothy Mae Jackson, 85, of Jefferson are Monday, 10:30 a.m. October 02, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery in Jefferson, TX., with Dr. Jeff Taylor officiating and under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home of Jefferson, TX. 

Mrs. Jackson was born April 3, 1932 in Jefferson, TX. to Raz Columbus and Maurine Humphrey Chambliss and passed away September 22, 2017 in Marshall. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Tom Jackson, four brothers, Donald Roy Chambliss, Glen Chambliss, Leland Chambliss, and John Chambliss.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson, Jessie Allen Wise Garden Club and the VFW Auxiliary.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her son, John H. Jackson & wife, Sheryl and grandchild Kevin Jackson all of Houston, TX. and daughter, Kathy A. Jackson of Jefferson, brothers, Robert Chambliss, Sr. and Wayne Chambliss & wife Barbara all of Jefferson and sister, Wilma Cauley of Houston.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church of Jefferson, Texas.
