Evelyn Suber Lewis

Evelyn (Suber) Lewis passed away on November 5, 2018 in Katy, TX, three days after her 92nd birthday.  She was born in Jefferson, Texas on November 2, 1926 to Minnie Lou (Mitcham) and Horace Suber.  She was raised in the Prospect community, north of Jefferson.  Evelyn attended Jefferson High School and business school in Austin, TX. She married John L. Lewis in 1947 who preceded her in death in 2012.  Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Lewis) Steinbarger and husband Randy Steinbarger of Hearne, TX  and son, Michael A. Lewis and daughter-in-law, Sharon of Houston, TX; Grand-daughter, Sharon E. Lewis and great-grandsons Rowan and Archer Stephens; Grandson Michael D. Lewis and wife Erin Lewis, Great-grandsons Braxton and Gavin Lewis, and great-granddaughter Eelyn Lewis.  She was loved by everyone and enjoyed her life. Evelyn loved her family and was one of the sweetest wives, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all. 

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Haggard Funeral Home, 203 E Clarksville St., Jefferson with Bro. Craig Evers officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in the name of Evelyn S. Lewis.
