Leslie Gene Schustereit

Funeral services for Mr. Leslie Gene Schustereit, 81, of Jefferson will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday October 15, 2018 at Mims Chapel United Methodist Church of Avinger with Reverend Ray Prince officiating. Interment will follow at Mims Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the service at the church. Mr. Schustereit passed away peacefully at his home on October 13, 2018.

Leslie Schustereit was born May 19, 1937 in Victoria, Texas to William Carl Schustereit and Hattie Wehlmann.   

Mr. Schustereit was a member of the Mims Chapel United Methodist church where he served as a trustee as well as the finance committee.  He was a retired maintenance mechanic for DuPont in Victoria, Texas after 33 years of service.  He loved to travel in his RV, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. 

Preceding Mr. Schustereit in death were his parents; brother, Vernon Schustereit and sister, Joyce Walton.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Schustereit; daughter, Susan Hagemann & David of Mountain City, Texas; son, Bill Schustereit & Cynthia of Emory, Texas; grandson, Michael Hagemann & Katie of Mountain City, Texas; granddaughter, Heidi Hagemann of Mountain City, Texas; great-granddaughter, Aubree Hagemann as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
