Mrs. Freda Ann Wood

Funeral services for Freda Ann Wood, 73, of Jefferson are scheduled for Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Capt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with Pastor John Taylor officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Thursday August 30, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Berea Cemetery under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wood was raised in Brownfield, TX where she was baptized at the First Baptist Church in 1955.  She married the love of her life in 1961 in Jefferson where she lived until 1969 when she and her husband moved to the Houston and Gulf Coast area until they returned to Jefferson in 2008. She started every morning studying her Bible. Mrs. Freda had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She liked antiques, baking cakes, collecting dolls. She was one who was always busy working in her garden and had beautiful flowers. Mrs. Wood loved her horses and dogs but she also liked to paint and you could tell that she had the talent to put her feelings on canvas.

Mrs. Wood was born April 1, 1945 in Linden, TX. to Raymond and Bertie Mae Strickland Pendley and passed away August 29, 2018 in Jefferson.

Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her parents, son; David Wood, five brothers and one sister.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Gary Wood, children; Teresa Wood of Burleson, Ronny Wood of Jefferson, sister, Linda McDuffee of El Cajon, CA., Jeanette McDermott of Mt. Pleasant and brother, Johnny Pendley of Winsboro.  Grandchildren, Chris Lamb, Elisa Lamb, Brooke Wood, Braxton Wood, Melissa Wood and Raymond Wood, two great grandchildren; Aubrey Lamb and Harper Lamb. numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
