Funeral services for Mrs. Ila Babe Hicks will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday April 25, 2019 in the Capt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Treadway officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Old Foundry Cemetery under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home, Jefferson, TX.

Babe Hicks, 88, died April 22, 2019 at a nursing home in Atlanta, TX. She was born in Marion County August 8, 1930 and graduated from Avinger High School in 1947. She was a Methodist by faith. She was a homemaker and loved to prepare big meals for her family and friends.

Babe was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Ray C. Hicks, parents Jack and Vallie Pyland Dorgan, a special aunt Jewel Pyland Gilbert and her husband B. M. Gilbert.

Surviving her are two sons, Ronald Hicks and wife Patti Hicks, and Chann Hicks and wife Debbie Hicks, six grandchildren; Sarah Rochelle, Hannah Hamilton, Heather Thomason, Mandy Long, Jason Hicks and Cody Hicks, eleven great grandchildren; Jagger Dyer, Lexie Dyer, Sterling Thomason, Eli Hamilton, Cruz Hamilton, Knox Hamilton, Blakeley Hicks, Alyssa Hicks, Jaelynn Hicks, Chanlee Ward and Dagen Ward.
