Roy Lee Rowland, Sr.

Roy Lee Rowland, Sr., CBSM USN RET., 83, of Avinger passed away Monday, March 5, 2018.  Cremation services are under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.

Mr. Rowland was born October 27, 1934 in Ball Ground Georgia to Lewis Edwin Rowland and Grace Maude Ruddell. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy in Korea and Vietnam attaining the rank of Chief Boatswain’s Mate and retiring after 30 years of faithful service.  He will be privately interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

Mr. Rowland was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Rowland; four children; sisters, Joyce Harris and Fay Beard; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
