Allen Gipson Jr.

Allen Gipson Jr. was born January 29, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana.  His shift in life ended early Sunday morning, February 20, 2022.  He was the first born of his father and mother, Allen Gipson, Sr. (“Big Baby”) and Glennie V.  A short time later, they welcomed their second son, Jesse. Some years later, Allen, Sr. remarried to a lady named Irene, and they had a daughter named Daphne.  Each of these beloved family members preceded Allen.  

Allen was educated in Shreveport and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.  He loved working on cars and was a top mechanic for Sears Automotive until Sears shut down.  He married a wonderful lady, Arlene, who changed his life.   He admitted he was where he was because of her positive influence.  Arlene brought a son to the marriage, and Allen and Steve forged a bonding friendship.

The most important event to happen to any human being is hearing the call of the Savior.  Allen gave his life to Christ and was baptized by his beloved Pastor Lovett in 2016, at Faith Independent Baptist Church.  He loved his church family and they never failed to send greetings to him to keep him encouraged.

Allen has many family and friends that will miss him including: Steven, Brandon (he called Allen “Pops”), Sarah, Cedric, Barbara, first cousins, including Dr. Virginia and Artis Cook.
