Private family Graveside Services for Bettie Gayle Morris Ford, 83 of Hallsville, Texas will be held at a later date.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 11:00am in the Pine Forest Baptist Church in Hallsville, Texas with Pastor Ottis Jarrell officiating. A time of fellowship will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am at the church before the service.
Bettie Gayle Morris Ford was born on June 8,1942 , in Jefferson, Texas to Tom and Verna (Bramlett) Morris and passed away on July 9, 2025, in Hallsville, Texas surrounded by her loving family.
Bettie was a proud 1960 graduate of Jefferson High School, where she served as drum major and was voted Band Sweetheart by her classmates. She was married to the love of her life, Clyde Ford, and together they raised a close-knit family in Hallsville.
Throughout her life, Bettie served her community in many ways, including her time as Activity Director at Clarimont Nursing Home and in other roles across the years. She and her husband were charter members of Pine Forest Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher and in many other capacities until her health declined.
Bettie had a deep love for Jesus and never missed an opportunity to share her faith with those around her. She also enjoyed writing, passionately expressing her thoughts when she felt called to do so. She loved Elvis, and especially cherished time spent with her sisters during their memorable sister meetings. Bettie will be remembered for her fierce love for her family, her unwavering faith, her spirited opinions, and the legacy of joy and truth she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Canaan Hampton.
Bettie is survived by her sister, Mary (Morris) Bornman of Eddyville, Illinois, and by her children: Terrie Hill, Michael Hill (wife Alison), Chan Ford (wife Stephanie), and David Ford (wife Shari), all of Hallsville.Affectionately known as “Two-Two” to her grandchildren, she poured love, wisdom, and joy into the lives of Cody Holloway, Lacie Hampton, Laynie Jones, Lindsey Searle, Toby Hill, Bailam Ford, Maddison Kidd, and Emily Ford. She was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren.
