Betty Jo Starr Kindred

Funeral Services for Betty Jo Starr Kindred, 88, of Jefferson, Texas will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 3:00pm in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with Bro. Harry O’Brown officiating and under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Trinity Cemetery in Jefferson, Texas. A time of visitation will be held an hour prior to service from 2:00 to 3:00pm in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home.

Betty Jo Kindred was born September 30, 1936, in Athens, Tennessee. to William Taft Starr and Plina Freeman Starr and passed away on October 23, 2024, in Jefferson, Texas.  

She was an active member for most of her life at Bethel Baptist Church in Jefferson, Texas. She also did several missions through the churches over the years, the word of God spoke through her every day and she was loved dearly by her family.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wade Kindred, brothers, Edward Starr, Howard Starr, and Kenneth Starr.

She is survived by her children, Ricky Kindred and Tamara Johnson; grandchildren; Victor Johnson, Vance Johnson, Victoria Slack and Blaine, Ryan Kindred and Emily; great grandchildren, Maylie Perrine, Claira Slack, Jett Slack, Gideon Kindred, and Addy Kindred. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers are Ricky Kindred, Blaine Slack, Victor Johnson, Vance Johnson, Joe Link, and Isaiah Saldivar.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Chambers Hospice and Magnolia Place for all of their dedication and care and also to Haggard Funeral Home for being such a blessing to our family for all these years.
