Memorial Services for Bettye Jo Peterson, 87, of Avinger, Texas will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00am in the Lake O’ The Pines Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Shirley and Bro. Danny Warbington officiating.
Bettye was born May 8,1938 to Chester Earl and Josephine Bonds Cates in Cass Co. TX.
Bettye worked at Thiokol for 29 years. She was a devoted member of Lake O’ the Pines Baptist Church and had a heart for Missions and spreading God’s word. She loved her family, especially her husband Ronny, and their granddaughter Adrianna, whom they cared for and raised. All of her grandchildren were very special to her and was extremely proud of them. She had a special way with flowers and also loved her cats. Bettye enjoyed spending time with her husband traveling, eating out and just enjoying life. She never needed a gps! She was the navigator on all of their many journeys. She would be sure to tell you if you’d missed your turn.
Bettye is survived by Her loving husband, Ronald Peterson, of 48 years, son Gordon Voight II, daughters Robin Henderson and husband Glenn, Dana Williamson and husband Keith and Joanna Herrera. Grandchildren Timothy Henderson, Adam Henderson and wife Courtney, Tia Stone, Jaden Henderson and Aiden Elliott. Great-Grandchildren Preston John Stone and Tex Henderson.
Preceded in death by parents Chester and Josephine Cates, Grandchildren Adrianna Herrera and Joshua Stone, son Gregory Voight, siblings James Cates, Pete Mayfield, Linda Beth Caldwell and Mike Mayfield.
