Funeral Services for Bobbie Jean Carter, 91, of Jefferson, Texas will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 11am in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Thompson officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Trinity Cemetery. A time of Visitation will be held an hour prior on Monday, April 3,2023, from 10 to 11am in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home.
Jean was born on October 10, 1931, in Carthage, Texas to Bobbie Dean Lee and Jewel Rich Lee and passed away on Friday, March 31,2023.
She resided most of her life in Marion County. Jean was a Nurse for over 40 years working in labor and delivery. She was an Eastern Star member and a long-standing member of Hall Baptist Church. She loved her church family and listened to hymns until the day she passed. She enjoyed her hummingbirds and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. Her greatest love was the love she had for her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, H.D. Moose Carter,Jr.; and daughter in law, Sandy Carter.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Randy Carter, Carol and spouse Buddy Kennedy, Terri and spouse James Downs, and Shanna and spouse Don Reeves; sister, Judy Thompson and spouse Michael; grandchildren, Allen Hughes, Lisa and spouse Derrik Jones, Xan and spouse Preston Campbell, Afton and spouse Rusty Mauldin, Wessley Carter, Karrie and spouse David Harper, Jason and spouse Laure’ Kennedy, America and spouse Brandon Bowman, Michael and spouse Crystal Downs, Kenneth Downs and fiancé Lindsey White, Stacie and spouse Brandon Masters, Britne’ Reeves fiancé Dylan Price, and Trisdon and spouse Michael Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Allen Hughes, Michael Downs, Kenneth Downs, Jason Kennedy, Brandon Bowman, Michael Thomas, and Preston Campbell. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
