Mr. Smith was born on August 18, 1955 in Natchez, Mississippi to Kenneth Wayne “Smitty” Smith and Alma Jean Jutzi and passed away in Longview, Texas on November 5, 2021.

Bobby was a proud member of 1973 graduating class of the Jefferson High School. He was employed by Lodi Drilling and Well Service from 1975 to 1994 and moved on to Therral Story Well Service where he worked until May 2016 when he was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic lung cancer. Bobby’s greatest passion was the love of his life, Vickie. He provided a loving home to his wife and family for 46 years. Bobby’s joy in life was watching his sons grow and attending all their activities. He was a Jefferson Dixie Youth Baseball Coach for his son’s teams for 10 years. Through his coaching years Bobby and Vickie opened their home to all the players. To this day, they are still called Pappa and Mommy Smith by all the players who entered their home. Bobby was once again blessed to watch his grandchildren grow and attend their activities, rarely missing an event. Bobby loved to hunt and later in life discovered the game of golf. He loved spending time hunting with his sons, as well as a good game of golf.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his father and mother-in-law, Billy Roy Wray, and Anna Ruth Owen Wray. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vickie Wray Smith to whom he married on September 25, 1975, in Jefferson, Texas. To this union was born their twin sons, Michael Wayne Smith and wife, Tracy; and Robert Kelly Smith and wife, Shannon; his special son Tim Duffie and wife Autumn and family. Grandchildren: Kaylie Lynn Smith, Trace Wayne Smith, Robert Kameron Smith, Sarah Renee Smith, Andrew Crawford Smith, and Bailee Ash.  Great Grandchild Stetson Ash; brother Kenneth Alan Smith and wife, Kelly. Niece, Amanda Wray Peavy and her children Elijah and Carlie Jo Peavy. Nephew, Jason Roy Wray and wife, Heidi and their son, Aidan. Brother-in-law:  Billy Marcus “Mark” Wray and wife, Marsye.

We wish to thank Texas Oncology, Christus Good Shepherd Hospital, and all the doctors and nurses who have helped Bobby over the last five and half years.
