Funeral Services for Mr. Carl Gene Talley, 87, of Jefferson, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the Capt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home, Jefferson, Texas with Bro. John Givens officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home of Jefferson. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 5- 7 p.m. in The Capt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home. Interment at Prospect Cemetery will follow upon conclusion of the funeral services.

Mr. Talley passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in the home of his daughter in Jefferson. He was born on May 31, 1934, to Chester and Mary Talley in Harrold, Texas.

Carl graduated from Frisco High School class of 1952 and went on to serve in the military for two years. He worked in the automobile industry for most of his life, and co-owned and ran the Club Café’ for five years in the 1990’s. He was a longtime member and deacon at the New Prospect Baptist Church in Jefferson.

Carl married Betty Nell Tolleson on Christmas eve in 1955 after meeting her that September and getting engaged on Halloween. They were married for 48 years until she passed away in 2004. He then married Charlotte Camp Holly in 2006.

Carl is survived by his wife, Charlotte Holly Talley; two daughters, Connie Lynn Guillory and husband Bryan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Carla Kay Jordan and husband, Jerome of Jefferson, Texas; three grandchildren, Laura Renee Nickens (Nathaniel), Casey Lynn Solano (Adrian), and Brandon Carl Guillory. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Dallas Howell, Cailynn Solano, Briana Solano, and Kallie Nickens. He is survived by two brothers, James Talley, and William Talley (Ann), and many nephews and nieces.

Serving as pallbearers will by Bryan Guillory, Jerome Jordan, Brandon Guillory, Adrian Solano, Mark Talley, and Derek Talley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Wood, Ricky Cooner, and Frankie Stone.
