Funeral Services for Carolyn Stone, 83, of Jefferson, Texas will be held on Saturday December 28, 2024, at 11:00am in the Cpt. Wm Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with Bro. John Givens officiating and under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home.
She was born on August 24, 1941, in Oil City, LA and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. She was the daughter of Mary Lee (Allen) Clark and Harold Wren Clark.
The light of her life were her three granddaughters, Meagan Lee Guinn, Clara Grace Guinn and Ella Paige Guinn of Jennings, LA and a step grandson, Trey Wallin of Marshall, TX, whom she loved so deeply.
Carolyn was a faithful Christian, member of the First Baptist Church for many years and the New Prospect Baptist Church for several years. She was a servant of God – Member of the choirs, SS Director, SS teacher, on several committees through the years. She was a member of the American Cancer Society (Marion Co. Unit) and the ladies volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary and the Red Hatters.
Carolyn was a secretary and receptionist/Administrative Assistant for several companies, Abney, Abney, Abney & Baldwin, Attys., Progress Energy & EXCO in Shreveport, LA. for 11 years before retiring in 2007.
She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in 1959 and then went to E.T.B.C. for a Business Certificate. She received several awards, but the best one was her grandchildren and watching them grow through the years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harold W. Clark, Jr. (Bubba).
She is survived by her husband, Franklin M. Stone; children, Glen Eliot Stone and wife Lori and Jenny Carol Guinn and husband Matt; grandchildren, Meagan Guinn LeBlanc, Clara Grace Guinn, Ella Paige Guinn; step grandson, Trey Wallin; siblings, Barbara Ann Starr and husband Jim, David M. Clark and wife Vicki.
