Memorial Services for Charles Averett Dozier, 70, of Jefferson, Texas will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00am in The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson, Texas with Fr. Isaac Oviedo officiating and under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.
Chuck was born on August 28, 1954, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Betty Schumann Dozier Cox and John Averett Dozier and passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, in Jefferson, Texas.
He grew up in Shreveport and had a passion for fishing which he carried with him into adulthood. He graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, Louisiana and moved to Gray, Texas on Caddo Lake where he knew he could do plenty of fishing while listening to The Beatles. Chuck dedicated 39 years of his life as a millwright at Libbey’s Glass in Shreveport, Louisiana. Outside of work he loved to do yard work, collect knives, fish, and spend time with the people he loved the most. Family and friends will remember Chuck having a strong-willed personality and an impeccable sense of humor. He made an impact on everyone who knew him.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, children, John Dozier and Stephanie Ferry, grandchild, Lauren Ferry.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Jana Gordy; son, Dennis Dozier; grandchildren, Aubrey, Bryan, Michael, Trystan, Beau, Lyndsey, Holly, Timothy, Sara, Lydia, and another on the way.
Keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they maneuver through this difficult time. We love you, Chuck. We beat you.
