Christopher Eddins Obituary

   Christopher Wayne Eddins entered into the presence of God on January 3, 2021 while hospitalized in Longview, Texas, after suffering a sudden illness.  Born on May 26, 1971, in Houston, Texas to Margaret and Bruce Eddins, Christopher attended schools in Bellaire Texas.  He was a business owner in Houston until 2018 when he moved to Jefferson.  Christopher was employed in Marshall, Texas with Auto Zone. 

Christopher's family has deep roots in Marion County.  His great grandparents, Robert and Dodie Wood resided in Jefferson.  Robert Wood was mayor of Jefferson in the 1950's.   Other great grandparents who lived in Jefferson were Mary Virginia Todd and John Sherwood Lewis. Jr. and great-great grand- parents George T. and Marion Todd, and Rev. John S. Lewis, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Jefferson, 1905-1909.

Christopher is predeceased by his great- great grandparents, his great-grandparents, his grandparents, Margaret Wood and John S. Lewis, III, his mother, Margaret Lewis and father, Bruce Eddins.  Left to cherish Christopher's memory are his aunt, Christy Lewis Hunkele of Pennsylvania, cousins Carolyn Virginia Lewis, Cary and Dorothy Lewis of, Oregon, Luana Kay Lewis of New York, Julianne and Raymond Fischer of Jefferson, Robert and Zena Wood of Denton, Texas.  Christopher will be missed by special long-time friends of Houston and Jefferson.

Christopher's generous wish to be an organ donor was honored.

A graveside service for Christopher will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 2 P. M.  at Old Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.
