Cora “Olean” Richardson, 64, of Avinger, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by love. Born on August 18, 1960, Olean lived a life rooted in family, and unconditional love. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose strength and warmth touched everyone she met.
Olean shared 47 loving years of marriage with the love of her life, Fredrick Terrell Richardson Jr. Together, they built a life full of love and cherished memories, raising two children, Bo and Sydney Richardson of Pleasanton, Texas, and Angla and Robert Ray of Kilgore, Texas. She also loved Brandon “Boo” Ray of Kilgore as one of her own, and she dearly treasured her best four-legged friend, Ruby Mae.
She was a proud and loving “Nanny” to her beloved grandchildren: Brandon and Vanessa Richardson of Pleasanton, Texas; Haley Richardson and Dylan Luna of Charlotte, Texas; Hannah and Jaime Garcia of Pleasanton, Texas; Bethany Ray and KJ Jackson of Kilgore, Texas; and Sutton Richardson of Pleasanton, Texas. Her joy was multiplied by her precious great-grandchildren: Khalani and Kash Richardson (children of Brandon and Vanessa), Dominick Luna (child of Haley and Dylan), and Avah and Jaime Garcia (children of Hannah and Jaime).
Olean found peace and joy in the outdoors. She loved to hunt, and being in a deer stand was her sanctuary—her way to relax and reconnect. It brought her happiness like nothing else, and she treasured those quiet moments in nature.
Olean was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Jimmy and Margaret Rhodes, and her brother, Dusty Rhodes. She leaves behind her cherished in-laws, Fred Sr. and Jacque Richardson, and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Her life was a testimony of kindness, selflessness and love. She touched the lives of so many and left her mark of love on each of them. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.
Though her physical presence will be missed beyond measure, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be Saturday June 21, 2025 at 2:00pm at her home.
2204 FM 1969 Avinger, Tx 75630.
