Funeral Services for Dorothy Louise “DoDo” Franks, 98 of Jefferson, Texas will be held on Friday March 10, 2023, at 11am in Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel with Bro. Shawn Thrapp officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mims Chapel Cemetery in Avinger, Texas. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday March 9, 2023, from 6pm to 8pm in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard funeral Home.
Dorothy was born on March 17, 1924, in Rodessa, Louisiana to James Dexter Eaton and Effie Durham Eaton and passed away on March 3, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, O.J. Childs; Second husband Lavon C. “Bondy” Franks; Sisters, Lorene Hooper, Delores Davis, Shirley Robinson; Brothers, Floyd Eaton, Melvin Eaton, Troy Eaton; Granddaughter, Melissa Bice-Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Phyllis Childs Bice and husband Robert, Michael Richard Childs, and wife Terri; Brother, Jim Neal Eaton; Grandchildren, Michael Bice and wife Amberly, Lesley Ann Leishman, Dexter Michael Childs and wife Jessica, Nicole Rackley and husband Stephen, Drew Richardson and wife Olivia; Great Grandchildren, Cali Smith, Cole Smith, Dane Bice, Dixon Bice, Cara Rackley, Camdyn Rackley, and Walker Richardson and expecting Great Grandchild Jace Kelly Childs; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She is also survived by honorary family members Elesa Hughes and LV Irving.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Dexter Childs, Mike Bice, Dixon Bice, Dane Bice, Cole Smith, and John Underhill.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lake O’ the Pines Baptist Church.
