Dorothy Lois (Stinnett) Land

Dorothy Lois Stinnett Land (84) of Jefferson TX went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 15th.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Friendship Baptist Church in Brookwood, AL on May 21, 2023, at 2pm.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Danny Land. Her children Michael (Beverly) May, Teresa Middleton, Jeff (Tina) May and Tonya (David) Cook.  One of her greatest joys were her 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She leaves behind her brothers and sisters Margie Dunn, Lorene Stinnett, Nolan (Brenda) Stinnett, Sue Aymond, Lucille (Jerry) Robertson, Don (Kay) Stinnett, and David Stinnett. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son Rodney (Gail) May; her parents, Noel and Velma Stinnett, her stepson Derek Land and sisters Bea Stinnett and Linda Stinnett.

Lois was a member of Lake O’ The Pines Baptist Church where she served on the benevolence committee and attended the Victory Sunday School Class.

Lois was born and raised in Oak Grove AL. She would later move to Texas, where she would meet and marry Danny Land. After retiring from Lockheed, they moved to Jefferson TX where they created their own little piece of heaven. Their home was always open; food on the table and filled with lots of love and laughter.

Lois never met a stranger. And if she did, she made sure to share her faith in Christ with them.

She loved family more than anything on earth and was the glue that held them together. Lois was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her; “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.” - Proverbs 31:28-29
