Elias Shehadeh Mouallem, 90, of Jefferson, Texas passed away peacefully in his sister’s home on May 23, 2022.
Mr. Mouallem was born October 06, 1931, in El-Koura, Lebanon to Shehadeh Mouallem and Marta Najtar Mouallem.
After his schooling Mr. Mouallem worked 37 years for the United States Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon. During his career with the embassy he wore many hats, that included but were not limited to keeping inventory, and acting as a translator between the U.S. Marines and local residents that came to the Embassy for assistance. He he was highly esteemed, decorated, and appreciated by his employer and the residents of Beirut. During his tenure at the U.S. Embassy, he survived two hostile bombings. He was known as a fine gentleman who lived a Christian life, helped others, and was a very peaceful man. At his retirement from the U.S. Embassy, he was granted his United States Citizenship and moved to Jefferson, Texas to live with his beloved sister Nada Hancock.
Mr. Mouallem is survived by his sister, Nada Hancock of Jefferson, Texas, and his brother, Nadeem (Ned) Mouallem of Fremont, California and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Khalil (Charlie), and Alice.
