Family and friends may come by the funeral home on Friday June 28, 2024, between 10:00am and 4:00pm to sign the register book and pay their respects to the family.

Mr. Braddock was born February the 16th 1935 in Texarkana, Texas to Elmer Lee and Edith Braddock and passed away peacefully, June 24th, 2024.

Upon finishing school, Mr. Braddock answered his call of duty with the United States Airforce in 1955 and served 2 years active and 6 years reserve. During this time, he married the love of his life Laura Vern Harrel and began their 67 years of life and family together. After being discharged from active-duty Brad joined the Dallas Fire Department where he worked for 10 years. In 1968 he decided it was time to move back home with his wife and three young children. After moving to Jefferson, he purchased Wicker Camp at Lake O’ The Pines which he owned from 68-72. This was also when he began his long career with the Texas Forest Service which he retired from in 1996 after 28 years of service.

Brad had many names but was known by friends and family as Mr. B. He loved the outdoors and sports. He was a founding member of the Warlock Hunting Club near Jefferson as well as a lifelong member of the Rusty Rail Country Club. Known for a competitive nature that was second to none, he competed over a lifetime from rodeo, baseball, softball, horseshoes and golf. If it was a game that could be won he was going to win. He instilled this unparalleled competitive drive in his children as well as his grandchildren who loved their Papa.

Mr. B is survived by one sibling Lura Caver (Queen City), daughter; son-in-law Cindy and Sammy Wilbanks (Linden); son and daughter-in-law Elmer Jr. “Shorty” and D’Ann Braddock (Linden); grandchildren Laurah Jackson and husband, Anton; Slater Braddock and wife, Tyrani; Samantha Wilbanks; Matthew Braddock and wife, Courtney; Stormie Braddock;  Mason Braddock and wife, Kaetlin;  as well as 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. B. was proceeded in death by his parents, wife, four siblings, and first-born son James Neal. We know he entered Heaven telling one of his many stories or singing a funny song.
