Funeral Services for Gracie Dupree Peace, age 81, of Jefferson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Capt. Wm. Perry chapel of Haggard Funeral home with Chaplin Lawrence Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home of Jefferson. Private burial services will be held at Cave Springs Cemetery in Harrison County Texas.
Gracie was born November 23, 1943, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Gordon Dupree and Essie Norment Dupree. She passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, in Jefferson.
Gracie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jefferson, were she served in the nursery, and as Sunday school teacher for many years. Gracie loved opening her home to the ladies weekly bible study, teaching God's word and inviting many women to gather and fellowship. Gracie enjoyed volunteering at the nursing homes, and working in her garden and flower beds. As a teenager Gracie loved going to the Louisiana Hayride to hear Elvis sing, but her all time joy was cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon & Essie Dupree, husbands, Walter Barham "Sonny" Crank and Joe "Buck" Peace; brothers, Charles Lee Dupree, & Donald Dupree; sisters Louise Kent and Faye Dupree; great granddaughter, Madison Grace Emmett.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Denise Bruce and her husband Tim, Teresa Fay Crank Mastrilli and her husband Frank, Diana Reeves and her husband Dale; siblings, Douglas Dupree and his wife Diana, Larry Dupree and his wife Sue and Kathy Little; grandchildren, Kathryn "Katie" Dial, Holly Elizabeth Woodward, T.J. Bruce, Matthew, Jonathan & Jack Mastrilli, Aerial & Mason Reeves. She also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren.
