Graveside services for Hope Wood Hughes, 70, of Marshall, Texas will be held on Monday October 28, 2024, at 3:00pm at Pope City Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Morris officiating and under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday October 27, 2024, from 6:00 to 8pm in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home.
Hope Ann Hughes was born on September 27, 1954, in Jefferson, TX to Jack Wood Sr and Melva Wood. She passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024. Hope was known for her selfless, kind and loving nature, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Hope graduated from Karnack High School and devoted her life to being a nurturing mother and Nanny, roles she cherished deeply. Cooking and spending quality time with family brought her immense happiness and fulfillment.
She is survived by her mother Melva Wood; daughter Misty Hughes and partner Rod Rodriguez; daughter Jackie Moseley and husband Aaron; siblings, Bunie Shockley, Sandra Montgomery and husband Mark, Jack Wood Jr and Brad Wood. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Drew Simmons and husband Clayton, Cody Pierce, Logan Pierce, Jace Moseley and Molly Moseley, as well as great-grandchildren Clayton Andrew and John Henry Simmons. A special mention is made of her nephew Roger Hughes, who held a special place in her life. Hope was preceded in death by her father, Jack Wood Sr.
