J.W. Mauldin Obituary

A memorial service for James William (J.W.) Mauldin, 76 of Jefferson, TX. will be held on Friday December 1, 2023, at 2pm in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home. He was born in Jefferson, TX. on March 15, 1947, to James Cole Mauldin and Margaret Elizabeth Woods Mauldin and went to be with the lord on November 28, 2023 in Shreveport, LA.

He was a Christian and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Jefferson, TX.

J.W. had a zest for life like no other. If you were around him you couldn’t help but have a smile on your face. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life and he thoroughly enjoyed spending his time camping, eating and taking others to experience the activities that brought him such joy. Before he retired, when he wasn’t relishing in his pastimes, he worked in the oilfield and logging industries.

J.W. was a loving husband, parent and grandparent and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was loved by all and will be missed tremendously. His loss leaves a hole in many hearts that will be impossible to fill.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Buddy Mauldin, grandson Brandon Mauldin and great grandson Jacob Wise Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Anita Mauldin, Children; Kimberly Wise, Rusty Mauldin and wife Afton, Daniel Mauldin, Carey Mauldin, Randy Wise and wife Kim, Billy Wise and wife Marsha and a special daughter in love Charlie Mauldin, sisters; Jeanette Clark and husband C.A. and Jan Bartley, Grandchildren; Nikki Martinez and husband Onix, Chelsi Mauldin, Presley Mauldin, Cooper Mauldin, Worth Mauldin, Ruston Mauldin, Shea Carter, Randi Kendrick, James “Bam” Kendrick, Jacob Wise and wife Chasity, Julie Wise, Colton Wise, great-grandchildren; Riley Mauldin, Camille Jackson, Connor Jackson, Genesis Martinez and Reagan Mauldin, Jazlynn Kellogg, Jaclynn Kellogg along with numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Bethel Baptist Church, 11768 TX-49, Jefferson, TX 75657.
