Funeral Services for James Lee Duck, 92, of Jefferson, Texas will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Jefferson with Reverend Ron Danley and Brother Jeff Taylor Officiating. Family visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the First Baptist Church.
Military internment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home of Jefferson.
Mr. Duck was born September 24, 1930, in Snyder, Texas to James Henry and Vivian Lee Rankin Duck and passed away in Jefferson, Texas on Friday, November 4, 2022.
Mr. Duck honorably served his country in the United States Army and continued his service by being an active member of the VFW Post #10373 where he was part of the military honor guard for many years, and a member of the American Legion Post #304 for over 50 years. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson.
Mr. Duck was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard “Pete” Duck.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Joye Duck; children, Kelly (Mike) Lee of Longview, Texas, and Kevin Duck of Marshall, Texas; Sister-in-Law, Cindi Land of Kildare, Texas; grandchildren, Landry James Lee (Kenzie) of Hillsboro, Texas and Jantzen Lynn Lee of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Great Grandson, Witten Scott Lee of Hillsboro, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Kevin Duck, Landry James Lee, Jantzen Lynn Lee, Mike Duck, Richard “Bo” Duck, and Mike Lee.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the V.F.W. Post #10373.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jefferson or the Alzheimer's Association.
