Cremation services for Ms. Janette "Jan" Marie Allen, 70, of Jefferson, Texas will be conducted under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.

Janette was born December 16, 1949 in Marshall, Texas to W.J. "Joe" Allen and Bette Lothian Allen and passed away peacefully on February 23, 2020.

While serving her country proudly in the Army Janette was the first female soldier assigned to the motor pool at Ft. Shafter, HI. She was an avid and willing volunteer for the Red Cross and would regularly help out at the service center in Marshall, Texas and travel across the country to assist during disasters which included working the Columbia Shuttle disaster as well as Hurricane LiLi.

Janette was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and an uncle.

Those left to cherish her memory are her aunt, Mary Jane Brookings; aunt, Janelle Singleton; uncle, Jim Lothian; uncle Jim Allen; her animal children, Jim Dandy the chihuahua and Diego the lab mix; as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
