Funeral Services for Jimmie Ruth Jaynes Ford, 91, of Jefferson, Texas will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10:00am in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with Trent Gale officiating and under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ford was born on October 13, 1933, in Jefferson, Texas to Curtis and Fannie Schellinger Jaynes, and passed away on Saturday, August 9,2025 in Jefferson, Texas, surrounded by family and friends.
She graduated from Jefferson High School, class of 1951, and attended ETBU. She married the love of her life, Edward Sherman Ford and they had one child, Betty Ford Grubbs.
She was active in many city and county programs. She was a lifelong member of the Jessie Wise Garden Club since 1978, serving in many offices and committees. She was Mother of the Year in 1980 for the Texas V.F.W. and ladies auxiliary. She was a member of the V. F.W. Post 10373 in Jefferson for 25 years and served as President for the local chapter, and President for the District 3 different times. She was a member of the Marion County Child Welfare Board for 8 years, and a member of the East Texas Council of Government, and a member of The First United Methodist Church.
She served as the Office Manager for Johnsons Tire, and Executive Director for the Marion County Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Jefferson Historic Foundation where she served on the Candlelight Tour of Homes.
Jimmie was a beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, and nana. Her greatest joy was being a mom and nana, to her only grandson.
Jimmie was preceded in death by her loving husband Edward Sherman Ford, her parents, sisters Cozette Tolleson and husband George, Darthea Kasner and husband Ed.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter Betty Ford Grubbs and husband Jeff, grandson Joshua Lynn Grubbs. She is also survived by her niece Karen McIntosh and husband Jan, nephews Curtis Kasner and wife Nancy, Brad Tolleson and wife Susan, and Blair Tolleson and wife Maria.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tristan Zimmerman, Carey Heaster, Wayne Smith, Buddy Rich, Glenn Carter, and Jan McIntosh.
