Graveside services for Mr. Johnie Paul Brooks, 77, of Jefferson, Texas is scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday July 17, 2020 at Trinity Cemetery with Reverend Brenda Lucas Officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.

Johnie Paul Brooks was born November 4, 1942 in Jefferson, Texas to John Taylor Brooks and Marie Cromer Brooks and passed away on July 13, 2020 in Longview, Texas.

Mr. Brooks honorably served his country for over 20 years in the United States Army which included assignments in Korea, Vietnam and Germany. After retirement from the Army Mr. Brooks continued to serve his community working for Marion County for more than 22 years. He was a man with many passions in life that included hunting, fishing and being an avid outdoorsman. Of all the passions Mr. Brooks had, his greatest love was his family.

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents; 5 sisters and 5 brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gertrud Brooks; son, John Andreas Brooks and wife Sonja Brooks; brother, Harold Brooks; grandson, Justin T. Brooks as well as numerous other extended family and friends, both here and in Germany.
