Karen Mae Yeager Powell, Mom, Nana, Nanny and Mena, gained her wings December 1, 2020 in Longview, Texas at the age of 74.
Karen was born on April 13, 1946 to Frank C. & Katie Sumner Yeager in Garnett, Kansas. Karen grew up on her family farm in Garnett, Kansas until she moved to Texas with her loving husband Dale Powell and their children, Jeff, Scott and Tiffani in 1975. Family was everything to her.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Dale Powell and Mike McDonald. Dale was the love of her life and father of her children. Also preceding her in death were her parents, eldest son Jeffrey Powell, two grandsons: Danny Cate and Branden Harkey, her three brothers: Steve, Milton “Mickey” and William “Bill” Yeager.
Karen is survived by her children, James Scott and Regina Powell of Jefferson, Tiffani Harkey of Longview, Tracey Powell of Linden, sister Barbara Seimears of White Oak and brother James Yeager of Garnett, KS.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, which she adored with her whole heart, Amanda Powell, Brandon Powell and wife Candice of Jefferson, Cody Powell and wife Claudia of Longview, Josh Powell, Christopher “Pip” Powell and Zack Powell all of Jefferson, Ashley Harkey of Longview and Breann Harkey of Greenwood. Her great-grands, Caleigh Cate, Jacob, Isabella, Lillian, Aidan, Chloe Powell, all of Jefferson, Olivia, Ryleigh, Logan Powell, Mikey Vanfossen all of Longview and Ryder Atkins of Greenwood. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM on Friday December 4, 2020 at Shiloh Methodist Church, funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Leward LaFleur officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow immediately at Shiloh Cemetery.
