An open visitation for Katelyn Nicole Mutai, 17, of Jefferson, Texas will be held from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM Wednesday July 15, 2020 on a come and go basis at Haggard Funeral Home in Jefferson, Texas. . Due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic we are limiting ALL gatherings to a total of 20. Katelyn was born November 6, 2002 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Daniel Kibet Mutai and Jada Noel Love and passed away on July 12, 2020 in Cass County Texas.
Katelyn was a member of the Jefferson High School Senior Class of 2021. She was a Manager on her Drill Team, The Jefferson Strutters; a photographer for the yearbook; a member of the East Texas Performing Arts; a photographer for the Jefferson Jimplecute Newspaper and also worked at Brookshire’s. Katelyn planned on attending Oklahoma State University after graduation to pursue an education in forensics.
Katelyn was preceded in death by her great-grandparents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Jada Love & Felix; her father, Daniel Mutai & Brittany; brothers and sisters, Caycen Mutai, Jayden Garrett, Mason Mutai, Maddie Mutai, Daniel Mutai, Demitri Mutai, Summer Love, Jamal Love; grandparents, Kent “Papaw” & Deana “Memaw” Goodman; grandparents, Henry & Hannah Lagat; grandparents, Papa and Mama “T” Thompson; grandparents, Felix & Mag Love; great-grandfather, Joseph Buckley; aunt, Alecia “Aunt Lucy” Capps & Christopher; uncle, Kevin “Uncle Cookie” Goodman & Marrisha; niece, Nova Love as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
