Laura Jane Cheatham

Services for Mrs. Laura Jane Cheatham., 87, of Longview, Tx. will be held 12 noon, Saturday September 7, 2019 in the Capt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home in Jefferson, Texas with John Grubbs officiating, under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cheatham was born December 10, 1931 in Lockesburg, AR., to A. Paul Owens and Maggie Sharp Owens and passed away September 4, 2019 in Longview, TX.

Mrs. Cheatham was a teacher at Jefferson I.S.D. for over 30 years where she was a proud Elementary school teacher. She enjoyed writing, quilting and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Cheatham was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Cheatham, three sisters and one brother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Paul Cheatham and wife Cathy of Longview, sisters, Dorothy Russell and Polly Crisp, sister-in-law, Velma Owens all of Arkansas, grandchildren, Jacob, Courtney, and Luke Cheatham, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
