Laverne Johnson-Hall Obituary

Funeral Services for Laverne Johnson-Hall, 87, of Jefferson, Texas will be held on Wednesday February 19, 2025, at 11:00am at the Jefferson Academy Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Gene Clapp and Pastor David Farmer officiating and under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.  A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday February 18, 2025, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home.

Laverne Johnson-Hall was born on September 14, 1937, in Liberty, Texas to Hershel M. Crum and Minne Thornton Crum and passed away peacefully at home in Jefferson, Texas on Friday, February 14, 2025.

Laverne was a devoted follower of God, deeply committed to her family and her beloved dogs. Her passion for sharing the word of God was evident in her actions as she distributed literature and founded the Texas Amazing Bible School to spread the gospel among prisoners. Spending time with her sons and grandchildren was always a source of joy, filled with love and laughter. Laverne also had a talent for quilting, and she took great pleasure in gifting her handmade creations to family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Myrl Johnson; three sisters; and one grandson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Sonny Hall; children, Melvin Johnson and wife Elisha, Milton Johnson and wife Robin, and Mike Johnson and wife Luann; step daughter, Rhonda Tyson and husband Mitch. Additionally, Laverne leaves behind nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is also survived by a good friend and great caregiver, Martha Martinez.

Serving as pallbearers are Tim Johnson, Michael Johnson, Colt Johnson, Landon Johnson, Nick Martin, and Nick Jones.
