Malcolm Eugene Spruell, III

Memorial Services for Malcolm Eugene Spruell, III, 80 of Jefferson, Texas will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 2pm in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Morris officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held from 1:30-2PM on Friday November 3, 2023, prior to the service.

Mac was born in Shreveport, LA, January 13, 1943 to Malcolm Eugene Spruell jr and Delores Estelle Nealey. He served in the US Army from 1960 to 1966. He received his masters in Sociology from SFA. He was a professor at Theil College but spent the majority of his life following his passion of art. He was a talented artist. He married Bettye Bollman in his home in Jefferson on December 23, 2000.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Kaye Lee Woodall, and son-in-law Robert (Woody) Woodall.

He is survived by his brother Lee Spruell, 3 step children Kenneth Mark VanDeventer, Sheila Woodall, Jennifer Morris and husband Lesley. 4 grand children Kenneth Morris and wife Emily, Rippy Woodall, Reba VanDeventer, Ashley Jackson and husband Chad, 4 great grandsons Bransyn Jackson, Houston Jackson, Wyatt Morris and Denver Jackson along with many friends.
