Mary Owens

Mary Owens, died peacefully in Magnolia Place Nursing Home on December 3rd, 2020 in Jefferson, TX at the age of 83.

Mary is survived by her husband of 66 years, Curtis Owens who resides in Avinger, TX; her children, Jerry Owens of Ft. Worth, TX. Lisa Moren and husband Tim Moren of Avinger, TX; grandchildren, Nicole Jones and husband Cody Jones of Keller, TX, Andrea Moren of Longview, TX, Annisa Barajas and husband Michael Barajas of Minden, LA, and Sam Moren of Avinger, TX; great grandchildren, Caroline and Jessie Jones, Star Luna, and Mikey Barajas. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Martha Burton of Arlington, TX, Rubey Martinson of Lake Jackson, TX, and Buck Burton of Arlington, TX. 

Mary was born on December 19th, 1936 in Personville, TX to parents John and Martha. In 1954, she graduated from Arlington High School and then married Curtis, an Army Veteran. After moving to Alaska, Mary began working for The Corps of Engineers. They eventually moved to Keller TX, where Mary worked for Atlas Van Lines for 25 years. During those years the couple welcomed 2 children into their home. In 1993 she retired and they moved to Marion County. 

Mary was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her children remember her as a kind mother who loved them endlessly. She enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with her family. 

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday December 12, 2020 at The Capt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home. Bryan Maertins and Leward LaFleur will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. Owens life. The family would like to thank the Staff of Magnolia Place for their dedicated services.
