Born: April 24, 1936, to Claud Rather Harmon and Lonnie Bell Sharp Harmon. Nona’s parents were schoolteachers, so she became a school teacher. Nona was devoted to teaching and education. She taught kindergarten in multiple private and public-school systems around Texas before retiring from Harleton ISD in 1990.
Every morning was spent praying for others and reading her bible. Nona loved to cook, bake and cake decorate. On any random Sunday, she would bring the celebratory birthday cake for the weekly birthdays at church. She would lead Sunday school when asked and would always be available to help in the after school or summer programs. She was passionate about service to God and being dedicated to others.
