A celebration of life for Rickey “Rick” Dunn, 73 of Avinger, Texas will be held at a later date.
Mr. Dunn was born on April 15, 1952, in Midland, Texas to Raymond Dunn and Merlene Golden Dunn and passed away on August 26, 2025, in Avinger, Texas.
Rick was passionate about the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening. Rick was a skilled cook and a generous host. He was especially known for his smoked meats- his ribs in particular, earned him a well-deserved reputation among friends and family. He relished any opportunity to gather with loved ones for good food, good stories and lots of laughter. Rick loved his Toyota 4 X 4 and his boats and spent a lot of time refurbishing them. He also had a love of travel and adventure that he shared with his devoted wife, Annie. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a loyal friend to many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sandra Collins Dunn.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Annie J. Dunn; children, Cody Dunn and wife Mary O’Neil, Carrie Hodges and husband Jared, Kelly Joe Dunn, Wendy Pilgrim and husband Jeff, Charlie Lewis and wife Jennifer; siblings, Becky Wisinger, Bruce Ray, Samantha Olmos and husband Robert, Seth Ray; grandchildren, Tristan Dunn, Kennedy Hodges, Bailey Hodges, Riley Hodges, Cody Pilgrim and wife Arabihah, Zack Pilgrim and wife Emma, Olivia Lewis, and Dylan Nobles; great grandchildren, River Pilgrim, Magnolia Pilgrim, Bodhi Pilgrim, and Isabella Pilgrim. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Donald Currier, Sammy Morris, Sonny Kelley, and Ricky Norman.
