Roger Robison Obituary

Memorial services for Mr. Roger Robison, 64, of Carthage, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM  Saturday March 16, 2019 at Heritage Baptist Church in Mount Enterprise, Texas with Pastor Rocky Otwell officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

A much-loved father, grandfather, son, and brother, Roger Robison, 64, of Carthage, Texas, passed away peacefully in the arms of his immediate family at UT Health in Tyler.  He had bravely fought kidney disease and a myriad of other health issues for several years. His bravery and faith in these trials gave us courage and reminded us of the preciousness of life.

Roger was a skilled carpenter by trade and loved to make things with his hands. He was a Marine who proudly served his country in Vietnam. An avid plant enthusiast, he created several nursery businesses throughout his lifetime. Like his father and grandfather, he really knew how to make things grow and flourish.

He loved his family dearly, and made sure they knew it. Nothing made him light up more than talking about his kids and grandkids. Roger was quick to say “I love you,” and “I’m sorry,” when it was needed. His compassionate spirit and kind voice will be greatly missed. He was a Christian and loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is preceded in death by his father Jack Wade Robison of Houston, Texas, and his mother Lorene Pierce of Carthage, Texas.

He is survived by his former wife of 30  years, Sandra Robison of Dekalb, TX; daughter Georgia Ford and husband Ashley of Dekalb, TX and their children Thatcher, Harris, and Emmeline; daughter Jennifer Foster and husband Ross of Emmet, AR and their children Nathan and Connor; daughter Mary Collins and husband John of Schertz, TX and their children Lincoln and Lorelei. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Robison, Jr. and wife, Sarah of Mineola, TX; sister Barbara Toon Pinkston and husband, Bill, of Carthage, TX, and many loving aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He fought the good fight, he kept the faith, and he finished the race.
