Funeral Services for Roy Woods, 73 of Avinger, Texas will be held on Friday September 20, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with Pastor Bubba DeBerry officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Mims chapel cemetery in Avinger, Texas. A time of visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday September 19,2024 in the Cpt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home.

Mr. Woods was born in Pittsburg, Texas on July 24, 1951, to James Edward Woods and Dorothy Mae Brown Woods and passed away on Wednesday September 11, 2024, in Longview, Texas.

Roy was a proud Army Veteran and honorably served his country in the Vietnam War. He was an avid car collector and restored corvettes that were featured in magazines. He loved riding his Harleys and cruising around the lake. He was also the proud owner and operator of Roy’s Tires in Jefferson for over 40 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ron Woods; brother-in-law, Gary Cleere.

Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Angie Woods; dog children, Foxy and Bo; brother in laws, Steve Cleere and wife Mae, David Cleere and wife Trish; sister-in-law, Billie Kat Wolchansky and husband David. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
