Samuel Ernest Lowrey

Graveside Services for Mr. Samuel Ernest Lowrey, age 92, of Jefferson, Texas, will be held on Friday January 15, 2021 at 1pm at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana with Pastor Mark Sparks officiating under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.  A time of visitation will be held from 1-7pm on Thursday January 14, 2021 at the Capt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home.

Mr. Lowrey was born September 5, 1928 in Corinth, Mississippi to Fred and Mittie Mae Wamsley Lowrey and passed away peacefully at his home in Jefferson, Texas on January 4, 2021.

Mr. Lowrey embellished his birthday to get into the Army to fight in WWII. His dedication in service to his country was further shown when Mr. Lowrey went on to enlist in the Air Force, serving over 20 years and retiring.

Mr. Lowrey was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hay Lowrey; parents; daughter, Rita Lynn Lowrey; and son-in-law, Leslie Sexton.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Fred Evert Lowrey of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter, Barbara Ellen Chandler and husband Darryl of Austin, Texas; son, Samuel E. Lowrey and wife Cynthia Ann of Bigelow, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
