Sheldon Ross Robinson

Funeral services for Sheldon Ross Robinson, 49 of Kerrville, Texas will be held on Saturday March 23, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Heritage Baptist Church in Jefferson, Texas with Bro. Seth Buckner officiating and under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 1-2pm at Heritage Baptist Church.

Sheldon was born July 27, 1974, in Houston, Texas. He passed away on March 17 at his home in Kerrville Tx.

Sheldon accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was baptized at Fairbanks Baptist Church where his father and grandfather served as deacons. Church was the center of Robinson family activities. His family later joined First Baptist Church of Houston, where Sheldon and his brother were involved in a very active youth ministry. His young home life involved a family altar and prayer time. Most of these meetings ended up being in the boys’ bedroom on a big waterbed where prayer, fun, and laughter combined a Christian way of life as his family strived to live a worshipful life pleasing to the Lord.

Sheldon graduated from Northwest Academy, Christian school and after graduating his family relocated to Northwest Louisiana. Sheldon attended Louisiana Tech University, there he earned his bachelor’s degree in agricultural business. He then moved to Texas and acquired a Texas teaching certificate in early childhood development and taught children with learning disabilities in the Hearne Independent School District.

Additionally, Sheldon worked many years in management and wait service for numerous restaurants. His lifetime dream was to someday have his own restaurant, and he recently considered properties in Jefferson Texas, where he wanted to open the “Happy Heart Café”.  For those who knew Sheldon this was very appropriate for he truly had a happy heart filled with God‘s love and a  love for his family and friends. Sheldon recently found a church home in Kerrville and had become involved in the worship ministry.  He was working on a personal goal to read the Bible through in 2024.

Sheldon was preceded in death by his father, William Ross Robinson Jr. His grandparents, Ross and Mell Robinson, and Herbert and Opal Dickson.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Robinson Cox and stepfather Ted Cox. His brother, Shannon Robinson and wife Shannon Elizabeth. Stepsister, Cassie Carnahan and husband Zach. Stepbrother, Teddy Cox and wife Jennifer. Nephews and nieces: William Robinson, Logan Owens and wife Julianne, Ty Owens and wife Morgan, Finley Carnahan, Harper Carnahan, Kelsey Carnahan, Shepherd Cox, and Libby Cox. Lizzy Owens, Layton Owens, Collins Owens, and Ace Owens. Many special aunts and uncles and numerous special, cousins and friends.
