Hazel Ereckson Chastain

I only met Miss Chastain on a couple of occasions when I repaired her motorbikes, but always remembered her poise and elegance. I instantly knew that she was a "lady". Jefferson and East Texas has lost a true jewel.

We shared a mutual friendship for over 20 years. I will miss our many phone conversations and letters along with a personal now and then. Hazel I'll see you again and you always be in my heart. You are truly a great lady. Your friend, Jeanette

Mrs. Chastain was an independent, strong, classy woman who was an inspiration and influence to many. She will be missed.

We are sorry about your loss. Perry Lee and Rob were best friends growing up in Jefferson. After his death, we would still drop in for a visit with Hazel during trips to Jefferson, usually when we went to the Cemetery. We will miss visiting with her. Rob and Joe & Carolyn Carroll
