Oh my goodness, my Christmas card was returned just now. I had no idea that Ron passed away. What a dear, dear man and such a special person to the Clark family. Ron was special to my parents and even moved to Lakeway because of them. My deepest condolences as I truly will miss his soul.

Last Friday, Brenda and I lost a very dear friend. It’s not often that we are so fortunate and blessed to know such a wonderful person like Bill Westbrook.

He was a big part of our family and our life. Bill is the last of the greatest generation who was part of my mother and father’s family. My parents, Bennett Brooke and Pansy Jones, went to Jefferson High School with Bill and Gladys Jean. Bill also was close to my grandparents (my mother’s parents), Ruben and Gladys Jones. Bill and my dad played football together at Jefferson High School, were close friends, and he was a close friend of my mother while they were in high school. Bill’s wife Gladys Jean was one of my mother’s best friends while growing up…she was a bride’s maid in mother and dad’s wedding.

Bill loved playing golf with my dad and me in Lakeway and Ruidoso, NM. Bill always had a big smile and laughter when we saw him. Like us he loved his dachshunds, Oscar and T-Bear. Our dachshund, Blitzen, and Oscar were brothers.

We will dearly miss Bill and his wonderful laughter but he’ll always be a part of our lives.

May our Lord Bless and comfort our friends, the Westbrooks. Our tears mingle with yours tonight. We are all saddened for your loss. Lights are shining a little brighter in Heaven tonight. And the memory of Bill Westbrook will burn brightly in our dear hearts forever.

Ronnie and family, my deepest sympathy for your loss. Your dad was an exceptional man. I always loved to shop in Westbrook’s. May the peace of God cover you and sweet memories flood your mind just when you need them.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Westbrook family during this difficult time. Mr. Westbrook was always smiling and asked about our families. David and BJ just know that he is in a better place now.

Comments to a fellow Marine:

Friends usually, pass like in the night;
Others connect, when all is right.
Bill, was my friend, I held him dear;
He's place in my memory, forever near.

David, B.J., Kayla, Kelsey, Emerson and the all of the Westbrook family.........Mr. Bill was one of the kindest men in Jefferson....it never mattered how busy he was whether he would be in his famous "Westbrook's Clothing Store", buying groceries, or simply walking down the street he always made time to ask "how is your family doing" ? A life so well lived and so many memories to remember.

Many Blessings,
Morgan, Caleb, T.J. and Patti Wallace
